My Granny's Button Box
Dedicated to everyone who has/had a Granny who collected buttons :)
A project i did whilst at sixth form, it is still to this point one of my favorite projects as it is the most personal, dedicated to family and memories. I created a series of fabric books inspired by old family photo albums and scrapbooks combined with the history of where all the buttons my Grandma kept came from such as old school uniforms and work uniforms etc, some were even considered antique. This book was my first draft before my final piece, it was designed to be seen as a book that would be left open as though at a favorite page of a photo album, it is embellished with old photographs printed onto fabric, old looking fabrics and lace to keep the theme of Vintage and many buttons including ones handmade by myself.
